Our Story

Growing with You: Over 50 Years of Serving the Gulf South

2024

Bright Future and Expansion

Embracing a future filled with growth and opportunities, The Personnel Consulting Group (PCG) has expanded its capabilities by adding new office space. Between tripling the number of construction recruiting team members, doubling the size of our petrochemical division, establishing a new dedicated HR division, and the PCG accounting division having record setting years in 2022 and 2023, our firm has shown our commitment and resolve to provide the best possible service to our partners.

2023

A New Era of Leadership

In 2023, leadership at The Personnel Consulting Group transitioned to a partnership model, with Michael Hecker, Jim Schneider, and Toby Toups taking ownership of the firm following the retirement of Frank Loria, who led for four decades. This strategic succession plan proudly carries on the Gospel-based culture of PCG while empowering the next generation of PCG recruiters to achieve both continuity and growth.

2012

Centralizing Operations

In 2012, PCG moved its offices to a more central location in Metairie, Louisiana, adjacent to the 17th Street Canal that separates Metairie from New Orleans, optimizing our presence and accessibility in the region.

2005

Resilience Post-Katrina

In 2005, Hurricane Katrina's devastation forced PCG to move from its downtown New Orleans headquarters, where it had been since 1969, to Harahan. Despite the challenges, including over four months without an office, PCG resiliently weathered the storm, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to our clients and candidates.

2000

A Unifying Identity

By 2000, the company had evolved with several divisions - Accounting Personnel Consultants, Engineering Personnel Consultants, and STAT Resources. This year marked the unification of these divisions under one name: The Personnel Consulting Group, symbolizing our integrated approach and comprehensive expertise.

1994

Enhancing Client Services

In our ongoing effort to offer comprehensive services, we introduced STAT Temps/STAT Resources in 1994, a new division focusing on administrative and clerical staffing, further broadening the scope of our expertise.

1987

Leadership Transition

1987 saw a significant change in leadership, with Dawson Nesbitt moving back to his roots and Frank Loria assuming full control of APC/EPC, ensuring continuity and growth in our services.

1979

Growing Partnership

In 1979, Frank Loria joined EPC as a recruiter specializing in Oil and Gas Engineering and Geoscience. The following year, Dawson Nesbitt became part of the team, focusing on accounting and finance recruitment. They later became partners in the firm, succeeding Mr. Fagan and Mr. Troth. Although Mr. Fagan did not pursue formal theological education, he initiated a local ministry for business professionals in the Greater New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas. He led Bible studies and discussions on the Christian Faith's validity, fostering open conversation among the Greater Gulf South business community.

1974

New Directions and Expansion

A couple of years after founding the company, Mr. Troth had a life changing experience when he became a follower of Jesus Christ. He began to feel a tug to go into the Seminary and in 1974 did so, but not before meeting New Orleans native William Fagan, who himself had had a similar spiritual epiphany. Mr. Fagan added, because of his engineering background and experience, an engineering placement component to the firm and began Engineering Personnel Consultants which now complemented Accounting Personnel.

In 1974 Mr. Troth left New Orleans with his wife, Helene, and two children, to attend Dallas Theological Seminary. Mr. Troth has spent his entire life since his graduation from DTS in some form of vocational ministry. Mr Troth lived in South Bend, Indiana until his passing in 2023.

1969

Foundational Years

Founded in 1969 by William Troth as a franchise of Electronic Systems Placement in New Orleans, PCG initially focused on accounting and data processing sectors. Despite early challenges, including the closure of remote offices in the early 1970s, the firm was rebranded as Accounting Personnel Consultants, laying the groundwork for future growth.

Commitment to Excellence

Since its inception in 1969, The Personnel Consulting Group has been dedicated to providing premier professional services in direct hire recruiting and contract staffing. We have continually built bridges connecting companies, families, and success.
